… "Crystal Carpet, an immense, immaculate carpet of salt, is where CLT resumes her work of pattern and writing through the use of audio cables that trace black lines, speakers that form dots, or compose a musical score. “This salt carpet sings its surface: the cable embroideries construct patterns that emit sounds,” explains the artist, who indicates that she created the sound composition from recordings of the development and rupture phases of crystallization. “These sounds, ordinarily inaudible to the ear, are amplified here and transformed into a ‘siren song,’” she further explains.
